William R. Allen

Will Allen was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, on August 12, 1974. He graduated from Samford University in 1996 with honors and then attended the University of Mississippi School of Law where he graduated in 1998, magna cum laude. While attending law school, he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa and was the developmental editor of the Mississippi Law Journal.

Will was admitted to the bar in the State of Alabama in 1999 and began his career in Birmingham, Alabama with Maynard, Cooper and Gale. He joined the Environmental/Toxic Tort group at Maynard Cooper and Gale and specialized in the litigation side of environmental law.

In 2001, Will returned home to Brookhaven, Mississippi, was admitted to the Bar in Mississippi, and joined Allen, Allen, Breeland & Allen, PLLC.

Will is a AV rated attorney and while he handles a variety of litigation matters, he specializes in public sector litigation. Will has handled all manner of cases for cities and counties and school districts in Mississippi as well as their individual employees. The litigation Will has handled runs the gamut from police related suits (excessive force, false arrest, unlawful search and seizure) under both the Mississippi Tort Claims Act and Section 1983 to slip and falls against school districts. Will’s practice includes all state courts in Mississippi as well as federal courts, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Currently, Will serves as litigation counsel for the Mississippi Supervisors Association Insurance Trust, the Mississippi Sheriff's Association and the Mississippi School Board Association.

Will is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, a Fellow of the Young Lawyers of the Mississippi Bar, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Lincoln County Bar Association (President). Will is also a certified Law Enforcement Standards and Training Instructor for the State of Mississippi. Will is currectly serving on the Government Law Section. He is a past-member of the Mississippi Young Lawyers Board of Directors and in 2008, was selected as Mississippi’s Young Lawyer Delegate to the ABA where he was selected to serve on the Credentials Board. Will also serves on the board of trustees for the Lincoln, Lawrence, Franklin Regional Library and the Lincoln County Chamber of  Commerce.

Will is married to Jenny Allen and they have one son, Sam, and a daughter, Lucy.
