Robert O. Allen

Bob Allen was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, on September 29, 1946. He received a B.S. Degree from Mississippi College in 1969 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1972. Upon graduation, Bob prosecuted with the Hinds County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and was thereafter a law clerk for Justice Neville Patterson with the Mississippi Supreme Court. He returned to practice law with his father in Brookhaven, Mississippi, in 1973.

Bob is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, the Lincoln County Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association. Bob is also a Fellow in the Mississippi Bar Foundation and has served three terms as a Bar Commissioner with the Mississippi State Bar Association. He also is a member and has served on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi School Board Association of Attorneys and the Mississippi County Board Attorneys.

Bob, who has an AV rating, specializes in general litigation and has appeared in all state and federal courts in Mississippi during his thirty plus years of practice. He has been the retained Lincoln County Board Attorney for twenty-nine years, the retained board attorney for the Brookhaven Separate School District for thirty-four years and has represented forty or more local governments in various types of litigation. His litigation practice includes insurance defense, commercial litigation, defense of public entities, toxic tort, and civil rights defense.

Bob is married to the former Patricia Black, and they have a daughter, Julie Ann Foncea, and a son, William Robert Allen, who practices in the firm.
