Firm Overview

The foundation for Allen, Allen, Breeland & Allen was laid more than fifty years ago by Emmette P. Allen. Mr. Allen completed law school in 1938 and, after a short stint practicing law in Prentiss, Mississippi, joined the United States Army Air Corps where he served as Flight Commander for the XIX Tactical Air Command. During World War II, Mr. Allen directed air support off Omaha Beach during the invasion of Normandy and then for General George S. Patton’s Third Army as it dashed across Europe following the invasion.

In 1945, Mr. Allen returned to Mississippi and partnered with Hugh Wall in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Mr. Allen struck out on his own in 1953 and created what was to become Allen, Allen, Breeland & Allen, PLLC.

Mr. Allen, an AV rated attorney, maintained a general practice serving clients such as the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors, the Brookhaven School District, Columbus Lumber Company and Trustmark National Bank. Mr. Allen continued practicing until months before he passed away in 1999 at the age of 82.

Robert O. Allen, Emmette’s son, came back to the practice in 1972 after completing law school and clerking for the Chief Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court, Neville Patterson. Mr. Allen, who is also an AV rated attorney, along with partners Durwood Breeland and Will Allen (Emmette’s grandson), have expanded the firm from a small-town general practice into a full service law firm serving clients across the State of Mississippi.

The firm prides itself on meeting the needs of all types of clients—from individuals to multinational corporations. The Firm is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed as a Preeminent Law Firm in several areas of litigation, including general litigation, civil rights litigation, insurance defense and toxic tort litigation.

The attorneys at Allen, Allen, Breeland & Allen, PLLC are experienced in almost every facet of the legal profession; however, the Firm prides itself on each attorney’s ability to take cases to trial and obtain favorable verdicts. The attorneys at Allen, Allen, Breeland & Allen, PLLC have over seventy years of combined courtroom experience. In an era where skilled oral advocacy is on the decline and more and more law firms seem afraid to enter the court room, Allen, Allen, Breeland & Allen, PLLC, has gathered a group of litigators who are not only practiced in the art of persuasion, but relish the opportunity to litigate cases that should not be resolved through settlement.

While the foundation of the Firm was laid nearly a half a century ago, the Firm continues to grow and aggressively seeks new partnerships with clients. Grounded in yesterday and looking towards tomorrow— Allen, Allen, Breeland & Allen, PLLC, is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of its clients by providing outstanding advocacy in a timely and economic manner.
